It is good news for North American viewers, as the US media company Univision has confirmed the acquisition of exclusive Spanish – language rights to the 2021 Copa America national team soccer tournament. The 2021 Copa America tournament will be hosted in Argentina and Colombia, where the local television network TUDN Sports Network will telecast live all 28 matches. Also, Univision had a deal with CONMEBOL, the South American Soccer body, which also includes Women’s and Men’s Copa America qualifier matches.
Univision’s President of Sports, Juan Carlos stated “This deal gives TUDN this summer’s three biggest soccer tournaments for a total of nine trophy competitions and 120 plus matches, marking a historic run of live soccer telecasts never before seen in the industry. It will be an action-packed summer for the home of soccer, and we look forward to bringing every moment to our fanacticos”.
Also, TUDN along with Copa America 2021 live coverage will showcase summer national team soccer matches which include the 2021 Concacaf Gold Cup and UEFA Euro 2021, the major North American and European regional tournaments. All the above sports programs will last for 90 days, with more than 120 matches will be aired live from the three competitions by TUDN.
Also there other series of tournaments to be aired live by Univision including club competitions such as the Mexican top fight Liga MX, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and Major League Soccer (MLS). Univision has also acquired rights to the Mexican national team, as well as the men’s and women’s national team.
Since 2007, TUDN covers 57 percent of soccer viewership across the US – regardless of language.
