Optus Sports, one of the leading streaming platforms for sports has secured rights to the premier South American Football Championship, the Copa America. Optus Sports have acquired rights to exclusively broadcast 79 competitive international games across 32 days. Also, the platform will stream live action of the upcoming Euro 2021 tournament on its channel.
Corin Dimopoulos, Head of Optus Television and content said that “ Optus Sports is well and truly focused on securing the best football tournaments and leagues, whilst continuing our world-class coverage across our stable of top-notch football”.

Now subscribers of Optus can watch every match for the upcoming 2021 and 2024 tournament, where originally the streaming channel had the Australian media rights to the Copa America event. With the Socceroos being invited to play the tournament last year before the coronavirus pandemic, they have come up with this newly extended agreement.
Currently, Optus holds the rights of the English Premier League in Australia, but recently lost rights to the UEFA Champions League.
